Near Toulouse, South of France (4-5 day workshops)
Château de Pourpry offers residential painting retreats in South West France, designed for artists seeking an immersive creative experience abroad. Set in a historic château near Toulouse, the retreat combines intensive art instruction with full board accommodation, airport transfers, and small-group teaching in a bright, spacious studio. The program also includes a guided visit to a nearby classified heritage village, blending cultural discovery with focused studio practice.
Schoodic Institute, Winter Harbor, ME (September 2 - 6, 2026)
This plein air painting retreat, held in the coastal landscape of Acadia National Park, is designed for the dedicated landscape painter-a time and place where you can paint without distraction, relax, and learn. Under the experienced guidance of artist Philip Frey, you will learn to capture the essence of the landscape, compose compelling images, and comprehend the interplay of color and light.
Online Zoom Workshops!
Learn this beautiful medium of watercolor from home! Follow Judy, step-by-step, through artistic concept, composition, drawing details, warm-up painting techniques, color mixing and the entire painting process to complete your paintings. Reference photos, drawing guides are provided prior to the workshops. Session recordings are downloadable to keep. Workshops are filled with Q&A, discussion and pauses to review individual student work. All student levels welcome.
These web-delivered courses are interactive with live demonstrations and will help you to improve your painting and drawing skills or inspire you to take on a new medium you have been wanting to try.
